Napoli Under Fire for Mocking Their Star Player Victor Osimhen.
On Tuesday Napoli Posted a video on their Tiktok page comparing their striker Victor Osimhen to a coconut. The Internet were furious by the action of the clubs and some called it "unacceptable".
Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda was angry as he said this kind of mockery can damage players and there should be legal taking against Napoli. Osimhen on the other hand react to the post by deleting all photos of him in a Napoli team jersey from his social media.
The mocking video use, which is now delete, was from a penalty miss by Osimhen during the match against Bologna during the last 20 minutes of the game. Osimhen shot the ball far from the post leaving his team scoreless. With less than 5 minutes of the game appear furious at his coach Rubi Garcia for subbing him out.
The 24-year-old score the most goals in the league with 26 goals in the past season and topping that off with three goals in the last five matches this season. The club delete the post, after the resignation of the social media executive, and commented on the situation by saying “To avoid any potential exploitation of the matter, SSC Napoli would like to explicitly state that the club never intended to offend or make fun of Victor Osimhen, who is an asset to the club,”. There are reports that the Nigerian striker could leave the club in January as his contract is ending in 2025.
